Woogloo to the Rescue

The Yellow Pages SiteBuilder division is rumoured to be closing down very shortly, which will adversely effect the most vanerable businesses in New Zealand - the small business - that can least afford to spend money on upgrading their website.

It looks as if the rumours are all true, that the SiteBuilder division of the Yellow Pages in New Zealand will be closed down in the next month or so.

This effectively means that all the SME's that have Site Builder websites will be left in the lurch when they close the division down. Not that the Yellow Pages will tell their clients this. Instead they are saying that they will continue to support and host Site Builder websites. They have even sold a further 150 new SiteBuilder websites in the last month.

In fact, what the real story is that the price for hosting these sites will be increased in the next 2-3 months, effectively pricing the client's out of their Site Builder website. They will be offered an advertising page on the new Yellow Pages website - but this is simply an information page with no logo, no company colours or branding and only a very short description.

Not much of a substitute for a full website of your own!

Why isn't the new Yellow Pages 'fessing up and keeping their own customers abreast of what changes they are going to make? Could this be more Telecom style confusion marketing?

We at Woogloo feel strongly that something needs to be done to 'rescue' the effected businesses. So we are offering to transfer their SiteBuilder website free-of-charge to the Woogloo platform.

This service would normally cost $550 + GST, but for a limited time is being given away to those companies with SiteBuilder websites that want to upgrade their website.

The feedback we have had to date is very positive. Many companies have expressed disgust with the quality of the design of their SiteBuilder website, the lack of help and the lack of promised upgrades as well as constant software bugs whenever they attempt to edit their website.

The lack of upgrades, the difficulty one would have editing a SiteBuilder website and the bugs are not surprising given that the software being used by the Yellow Pages has not been upgraded since 1998.

Some businesses are shocked that Woogloo can offer a better solution for a lower hosting cost than what they are currently paying for their SiteBuilder website. But this also is not surprising to us given that Telecom are famous for over charging and under delivering when it comes to their products and services - especially their internet products and services.

While the cost of hosting has been going down over the last few years, Woogloo goes beyond what others are offering because of its highly efficient data storage and retrieval system that means that we can offer full industrial strength SQL Server hosting services at only $24.95 per month - including unlimited pages, unlimited products, unlimited email accounts and a host of other features and benefits currently unavailable anywhere else in the world.

If you have a Yellow Pages SiteBuilder website, or are unhappy with your current web solution, contact us today on bob.woofix@woogloo.com or 0800 437 883 to discuss how we can help you upgrade your website to the Woogloo platform.
